Inflexion Games

Immersive Design and QA

The team at Inflexion Games reached out and asked if I could consult on their gaslamp fantasy survival crafter - Nightingale - due to my experience with similar games in the genre. I remember seeing the trailer for the first time and simply being enamored with the world and setting, and so I quickly agreed. I provided experiential gameplay and systems feedback, performance testing, and QA test scripts for the development team, which resulted in implementing features that significantly improved the player experience and engagement.

Critiquing games is a delicate balance; designers and developers pour their hearts and souls into making games, and criticism - if it isn’t constructive - can actually be destructive to team morale and trust. With Nightingale, I focused on player immersion: which elements of the game helped build player immersion? Which elements reminded the player that they were playing a video game?

Open, honest conversations about games can make them better, and the team at Inflexion were absolutely wonderful to work with.
